about Individual (Non-Member) Subscriptions

  1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?
    When you activate your online access, you will create a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

  2. What if I forget my password?
    We have online instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password.

  3. Why should I get an Individual (Non-Member) subscription?
    Individual (Non-Member) Subscribers have access to:
    Tables of contents, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, CiteTrack, and online breaking news.

  4. How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?
    If your institution has a subscription to AAP News, it will have an electronic version of the journal.

    If you would like to have an institutional subscription, please contact your local librarian.

  5. Will the Academy continue to publish the paper version? And for how long?
    The Academy plans to continue publishing the paper version of AAP News. We have actually found that print and online publication are complementary, and our subscription approach reflects this philosophy.

  6. Who is eligible for an Individual (Non-Member) and a Member Subscription?
    Individual (Non-Member) subscriptions are available to individuals, providing them with a paper and electronic version of the newsmagazine. AAP Members who receive a subscription to AAP News as part of their dues also receive a paper and electronic version of the journal. Members and Non-Members may also have access to AAP News online through an Institutional Subscription.

  7. How can I access AAP News Online if I am not an AAP member and I don't have access through an institutional subscription?
    You may wish to apply for AAP membership or you may wish to purchase an Individual (Non-Member) print subscription which provides access to the electronic version. You may also pay for access to an article for 48 hours or to the entire site for a 30-days. Details for this can be found by clicking on an article you wish to view.

  8. How do I become a member of AAP?
    Information about AAP Membership and application forms are available from the AAP.

  9. How do I notify you about a change of address?
    Please let us know as soon as possible when you are changing your address. If you are a Member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, please contact the membership{at}aap.org to change your address. Changing your address in this manner will also change the address for your subscription to AAP News. We need 4-6 weeks' notice to ensure uninterrupted service.

  10. What if I never received an issue of AAP News? What if it was lost in the mail?
    If you are missing an issue, please notify us within six (6) months of the missing issue's cover date, and we will replace the issue at no charge.
